Israel secretly supplied the Indian army with weapons in 1971, even though the countries had no diplomatic relations at the time, reveals "The Blood Telegram", a book by the American author Gary Bass, which focuses on the US administration's policy toward East Pakistan (today's Bangladesh).
According to archived documents by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's secretary, it appears that Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir transferred mortars and ammunition to India and even expressed her commitment to keep doing so in the future. (Ynet)
