Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon met with the heads of regional councils in the south and north of the country to explain why the decision was made to cancel guard services at the entrance to rural communities.
"The IDF did not leave the areas, and is still there with its best units. The guarding mechanism of using homefront units at the gates of rural communities is anachronistic and irrelevant. It's not a question of money, but how to better use the force," said Ya'alon. (Yoav Zitun)
