Ahead of Universal Children's Day that wil take place on November 20, Welfare Minister Meir Cohen warned that 46% of impoverished Israelis are children.
According to figures from the National Insurance Institute, as of 2012, the number of impoverished children in the country exceeded 860,000, meaning one in three children is below the poverty line. (Omri Efraim)
