UN: Transfer $300-million assistance to Phillippines

The United Nations has asked to transfor $300-million in aid to the Phillippines, following the typhoon that struck that country, according to a report in the New York Times. Senior officials in the UN stated that there are currently 11-million civilians in need of aid.
