Prison, fine for man who ran over journalist Tal Shavit

Tel Aviv Traffic Court sentenced Hayim Baram to 14 months in prison for negligence in the death of journalist Tal Shavit in March of 2011, after Baram hit him while driving.

In addition, Baram was fined NIS 20,000 and will pay an additional NIS 30,000 to Shavit's next-of-kin. According to Judge Ofer Nahari, it is a "small, symbolic fine." (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
