Netivot: Supporters of Abergel rioted

Following news of the appeal filed to lengthen the detention of Rabbi Yoram Abergel, his supporters rioted in Netivot. Police and fire teams cleared the crowds from Route 25, where demonstrators were blocking traffic, burning tires and throwing trash.

According to the court decision following the appeal, the remand of Abergel was extended by four days. Two other suspects with connections to southern crime boss Shalom Domrani who is also suspected of involvement in the case, had their remands extended. (Ilana Curiel)
