The Muslim Brotherhood is planning protests on Friday to coincide with the end of Egypt's state of emergency and curfew. Broader protests are planned for Tuesday. A spokesperson for the group, Hamdi Zoba, told the Saudi newspaper Okaz that Friday's demonstrations would continue into the early hours of the morning.
Egypt announced Thursday that on Friday it would lift the state of emergency and the curfew in 13 districts, as ordered by the administrative court. A security source told the newspaper that the army and police have prepared a widespread security plan to ensure public safety. (Roi Kais)
