The government approved the draft to the new law for prevention of infiltration with a vote of 12 in favor and 3 abstentions. According to the draft brought by Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar, it will be possible to detain asylum seekers in a closed facility without trial after the law passes the Knesset.
Additionally, it will be permissible to detain asylum seekers in an open facility without time limits. The proposed new law comes after the High Court cancelled an earlier infiltrator prevention law two months ago. (Noam Dvir)
