Report: UK tracked visits of diplomats to hotels worldwide
None
The German newspaper Der Spiegel reported that for three years, the United Kingdom built an electronic intelligence system that tracked some 350 hotels around the world, following the visits of diplomats and foreigners. The newspaper based the report on files leaked by former CIA contractor Edward Snowden.
According to the reports, the information was collected via eavesdropping on telephone calls and faxes, hacking into computer systems and eavesdropping in hotel bars. (Ynet)
