Golani soldiers given prison terms for prisoner abuse

The Jaffa Military Court sentenced two soldiers to five and a half and six and a half months in prison, respectively, for assaulting a restrained Palestinian. The two Golani Brigade soldiers were guarding the man at an IDF post in Gaza in 2011.
The Palestinian was arrested after crossing into Israel from the Gaza Strip. The court also ordered the soldiers be demoted to the rank of private. (Yoav Zitun)
