The new company's activity will begin in March-April 2014. The flights will be operated in Boeing 737-800 planes which will get a different logo and colors from El Al's.

The low-cost company will offer minimum service, but will include more than one class. It aims to help El Al deal with the growing competition from European airlines like easyJet and Wizz Air, which operate many routes to Israel, including flights from London, Manchester, Geneva, Basel, Rome, Budapest, Warsaw and Berlin.

The company has also announced the opening of a luxury business lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey for its premium customers.

The Lounge & Art is located at the ground area of the airport's Terminal B, near El Al's check-in counters.

The lounge is available to El Al premium customers flying from Newark seven days a week, with spacious seating for 90 people. It also serves as a venue for exhibitions of contemporary art and design that enrich the visitors’ visual cultural experience, the company said in a statement.
