Syria: Israel is only obstacle to WMD elimination in Middle East

The Syrian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it welcomes the nuclear deal signed in Geneva between Iran and the world powers. "The deal is a milestone in ensuring the interests of the Iranian people and acknowledges Iran's right for nuclear energy for peaceful purposes," the statement read.
A senior Syrian Foreign Ministry official said that the deal with Iran "paves the way for an international effort to obliterate the Middle East from weapons of mass destruction. Israel remains the sole obstacle preventing this goal because of its refusal to allow inspection of its facilities." (Roi Kais)
