Lapid expected to announce cancelation of income tax raise

Finance Minister Yair Lapid is expected to announce Monday that income tax rates will not be rising this January. Lapid will hold a press conference Monday evening with his chief staff, where he will likely announce steps he has taken in the tax realm.
The decision likely stems from a new Central Bureau of Statistics calculation of the gross national product, which shows the deficit declined by about a percentange point from the GNP. It was also shown that less money was spent by government offices in 2013 because the budget was approved late. (Avital Lahav)
