A seven-year-old girl from Netanya was seriously injured Monday after being stabbed in the throat, apparently by her uncle. He has been arrested and will face a remand hearing later on Tuesday.
The girl underwent surgery and is now in moderate condition.
According to preliminary information, the girl and her uncle, 38, spent the day together on Monday. When they returned to his house, the uncle "heard voices asking him to kill a person" and proceeded to stab the girl with a knife. Neighbors said the uncle acted strangely in the past.

Paramedics treated the girl on the scene and then rushed her to the city's Leniado Hospital. Police have launched an investigation. A ZAKA member said the girl was fully conscious when paramedics arrived at the scene. "She was talking and asked where her mother was," Dudi Mor said.
