Finance Minister and Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid presented a plan to shorten the summer break for grades 1 and 2, at the Education Ministry in Tel Aviv on Thursday.
"Parents from lower economic classes spend thousands of shekels each year on summer camps, and this weighs them down. Starting this summer, grade 1 and 2 students will stay at school for three weeks of a summer-school framework. We can mold values and traits that you can't find at any summer camp or with any babysitter," he said. (Shahar Chai)
