IAEA: North Korea activity may indicate reactor restart effort

Activities have been observed at a North Korean nuclear site that "are consistent" with an effort to restart a reactor there, the UN nuclear agency chief said Thursday.

Pyongyang announced in April it would revive the aged research reactor at its Yongbyon nuclear complex, which experts say is capable of producing plutonium for bombs, but stressed it was seeking a deterrent capacity. (Reuters)
