Hamas has announced it is canceling its annual assembly in the center of the Gaza Strip, which would have marked the 26th anniversary of the organization's founding, because of the financial difficulties in the Strip. The assembly was to meet on December 14.
Last year, the assembly enjoyed overwhelming attendance after the end of IDF's Pillar of Defense operation, and the headline which dominated the news was the arrival of Hamas' political chief, Khaled Meshaal. (Elior Levy)
