Petah Tikva resident suspected of pocketing charity cash
A 41-year-old man from Petah Tikva was arrested for allegedly impersonating a representative of a non-profit organization for children at risk. He placed charity-collection boxes in dozens of businesses and then stole the donations.
When the real representative arrived to collect the charity boxes, he was told that the suspect had already taken them. Petah Tikva Police arrested the suspect after identifying him through security cameras, and finding in his house the charity boxes and counterfeit documents. He will appear in court Monday for a remand hearing. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
