Finance Committee prevents NIS 2B increase in defense budget
Members of the Knesset's Finance Committee prevented the attempt of the Finance Ministry to increase the defense budget by NIS 1.82 billion ($516 million) through transferring budget surpluses from last year. According to the Finance Ministry, these surpluses were not put to use.
Knesset Members refused to approve the immediate Finance Ministry request without careful examination of the formation of such surpluses. (Zvi Lavi)
