Al-Qaida terrorists attacked a Yemeni military checkpoint in a southern province Monday, sparking a clash that left three terrorists and two soldiers dead, a military official said.
Another four terrorists and one soldier were wounded in the fighting in Sayoun, a city in Hadramawt province, he said. Also in Hadramawt, unknown gunmen shot and killed an army officer and his son in a drive-by attack on his car on Sunday, the Defense Ministry said in a statement. (AP)
