Report: Rise in chid abuse cases
A rise in cases of child abuse in 2012 in comparison to 2011 figures is the concerning issue at the heart of a new study from the Haruv Institute, which was submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs. Jerusalem District had the highest rate of reports regarding sexual abuse of minors, while Tel Aviv District had the highest rates of reported physical violence towards children.
The highest rates of abandoned children were reported in the Southern District, and in Arab sector. The study is a compilation of reports by social workers from across the country. (Omri Efraim)
