Border Guard officers who stole from migrant get community service
The Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court sentenced two Border Guard officers, Matan Nachmani and Pinchas Eliyahu Yonatanov, to six months in prison, which were converted to community service, for stealing from a Sudanese migrant. They were also ordered to pay the victim NIS 4,000.
According to the indictment, the two were patrolling a street in Tel Aviv in December 2011 and took the man to a side street, stole his money and wrote a bogus report. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
