Average salary rises in 2013 3rd quarter
The average worker's salary rose from July to September by 1.1%, the Central Bureau of Statistics published Thursday. The current average salary stands at 9,206 NIS a month. The number of jobs also rose by 0.9% to 3.093 million.
The service industry saw a 16% rise in jobs, while the average salary decreased by 7.9%. Construction jobs grew by 5.1%, and the highest average salary is from the mining and excavation sector, 20.9 thousand NIS. The food service industry has the lowest average salary, only 4,238 NIS a month. (Billie Frenkel)
