Queen Elizabeth II expressed "deep sadness" Friday over the death of Nelson Mandela, paying tribute to his "tireless" efforts to achieve a peaceful South Africa.
"The Queen was deeply saddened to learn of Nelson Mandela's death last night. He tirelessly worked for the good of his country. His legacy is the peaceful South Africa of today," a Buckingham Palace statement said. (AFP)
