France to send more soldiers to Central African Republic

French President Francois Hollande says his country is raising its troop deployment in Central African Republic to 1,600 – 400 more than initially planned.

Hollande told reporters after a Paris summit on security in Africa that the 1,600 deployment – to be completed Saturday – would remain as long as necessary for its mission to help stabilize the country. (Reuters)
