Obama: Sanction regime shut down Iranian economy

US President Barack Obama spoke at the Saban Forum, a Brooking Institution event hosted by Israeli businessman Haim Saban. Obama said preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is not only in Israel's interests, but in America's as well.

He claimed the sanction regime was successful in moderating Iran and helped bring about the election of Iranian president Hassan Rohani in the place of more conservative candidates. (Yitzhak Benhorin, WASHINGTON)
