WHO supplies Arab world with 23 million polio vaccines

The World Health Organization began supplying polio vaccines for 23 million children in Arab countries, including Syria, where 17 cases of infantile paralysis have been found. Unicef and the Red Crescent are assisting in one of the largest vaccine operations ever implemented.

The operation will be carried out for two months, and all children under five will be vaccinated. The WHO said that it is worried that access to many children won't be made possible, especially Syrian children, who are in the midsts of a civil war. (Itay Gal)
