MDA spokesperson: MDA has no authority over directives

Magen David Adom spokesperson Zachi Heller addressed the Ynet article exposing MDA's refusal of blood donation from MK Pnina Tamano-Shata (Yesh Atid): "Blood services of MDA and hospital blood banks operate according to Health Ministry directives."

Heller added, "The ministry's directives include the wording of the questionnaire answered by prospective blood donors. The procedures are determined by committees of professional experts from the Health Ministry; the MDA has no authority to change those directives." (Yaron Kelner and Michal Margalit)
