Abbas: Delay in prisoner release will not lead to end of talks

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in a television interview that a delay in the release of prisoners will not stop the negotiations with Israel, because the agreement for the release was made in return for the Palestinians not turning to international organizations and not as part of the threshold conditions for starting negotiations.
He added that the Palestinians object to an interim deal, but will concede to a permanent agreement that would be carried out in stages and the Israeli retreat would be gradual. (Elior Levy)
