Israeli ambassador to US condemns academic boycott of Israel
Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer condemned a decision by the American Studies Association to boycott Israeli colleges and universities.
"Instead of insisting on academic freedom and human rights by boycotting countries which jail professors over their opinions, the organization chose to impose its first boycott ever on Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East," Dermer said. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
