Inspectors, police arrive at kibbutz to arrest African asylum seekers

None

Inspectors of the Population and Immigration Authority, accompanied by police forces, have arrived at Kibbutz Nachshon, north of Beit Shemesh, in order to detain 150 African asylum seekers staying in the place.

The migrants left the open Holot facility in the south two days ago and headed to Jerusalem for a protest outside the government building. According to an amendment to the law approved last week, the refuge seekers can be arrested within 48 hours after leaving the open facility and jailed in the closed Saharonim facility.
