Minister publishes memo of law claiming marine gas deposits

The justice minister released a memorandum of law for the Marine Area Bill. The memorandum establishes a financial-only region, 200 nautical miles from the Israeli coast, which will anchor the State's right to claim the natural resources in the area.
The purpose of the memorandum is to give judicial backing to marine activity, mostly natural gas searches and oil production, which the State is monitoring and encouraging. Lebanon has also made claims for gas deposits opposite its coasts. (Aviel Magnezi)
