MK Cabel to appeal rejection to hold labor federation elections

Knesset Member Eitan Cabel said he plans on appealing a district court's decision that rejected his initial appeal to hold general elections for the position of the Histadrut Labor Federation chairman. "The right to elect and be elected is a basic and fundamental right of democracy and it's not acceptable that this right was taken from me.
"Only the Supreme Court has the moral authority to make a decision on the topic. I don't have the right to prevent my colleagues in the Histadrut from choosing who they want to lead them, and I'll continue to fight in favor of democracy against the policy of wheeling and dealing." (Moran Azulay)
