Report: Iran offered sanctions relief for Assad ouster
Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat reported that Iranian sources claim Iran received an offer from the West to implement the Geneva agreement and remove the financial sanctions in return for Iran's help in solving the Syrian crisis based on a "transitional period without Syrian president Bashar Assad."
According to the paper, Iran's deputy foreign minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized in his response that Iran is not interested in tying the nuclear affair to other matters. (Roi Kais)
