President Shimon Peres sent a condolence letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin following a suicide attack this morning. Peres wrote: "I was shocked to hear about the terrorist attack at the train station. On behalf of myself and the citizens of Israel, I would like to express my condolences to the families of the victims and to the Russian people."
Peres condemned the attack "on innocent people by terrorists motivated by hatred," adding that he was "confident that the international community will continue to cooperate in an effort to eradicate terrorism." (Noam Dvir)
