Committee: State will recognize Chabad work as national-service
The Special Committee for the Equal Sharing of the Burden has accepted MK Eliezer Stern's (Hatenua) proposal that the State will accept the activities of Chabad emissaries and yeshiva students outside of Israel as national-civil service.
Stern said the decision will let "emissaries that the Rebbe of Lubavitch told they don't need to immigrate to Israel to be emissaries of the State of Israel outside of the country." (Moran Azulay)
