A senior Jordanian official told Arab daily Al-Hayat that Jordan is opposed to acting as the prime partner for negotiations because of the concern that it will blamed for any Palestinian concession.
Another senior official told the paper that "the decision taken by Jordan determines that it stays in the negotiations room but does not sit at the table." He added, "The decision to sit at the negotiations table is tied to Jordanian interests. If Jordan feels that its interests are under threat, it will immediately – and without hesitation – sit at the negotiations table." (Roi Kais)
