Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Edelstein eulogized former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon saying his "fingerprints were considerably imprinted in the State of Israel's history books."
He said that despite disagreeing with Sharon's decision to remove the Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip, he wouldn't let that affect Sharon's great character.
"I completely disagreed with his vision on the disengagement plan, the divide was too great," he said. "But I never let that divide get in the way of his merits, his contributions and his willingness to carry the weight of the nation. (Attila Somfalvi and Moran Azulay)
