Peres thanks Kerry for efforts to achieve peace

President Shimon Peres spoke during a special meeting of the plenum marking 65 years from the establishment of the Knesset, saying: "Today, a real opportunity has been created for peace with the Palestinians and even with the Arab world, or at least with parts of it."

Peres further said: "Both sides know that there is no better alternative. The deep friendship with the United States is central to the security of Israel, and the efforts made by US Secretary of State John Kerry to achieve peace are testimony to the American position. (Moran Azulay)
