The Lebanese army announced that it killed Ibrahim Abdul Mohti Abou Maaileq, known as "Abi Jaafar", a senior member of the al-Qaeda affiliated Abdullah Azzam Brigades, that claimed responsibility for firing rockets into Israel some six months ago. The organization was also behind the deadly attack in the Iranian embassy in Beirut in November.
Earlier this month, the Lebanese Army arrested the organization's leader, Majid Al - Majid, but a few days later he died in a hospital due to unclear circumstances. (Roi Kais)
