Lebanon's state media says an explosion has been heard near a school in the Shiite-dominated town of Hermel in the northeast of the country. The Hezbollah-affiliated Al Miadin news channel reported that three people were killed and 15 were injured in the attack.
The state media did not give a cause or mention casualties for the late Saturday blast in Hermel.

Two weeks ago, another car bomb exploded in the same region and claimed the lives of four people. Only one week later, a strong explosion struck Hezbollah stronghold in south-east Beirut. Two people were killed and dozens were injured in the event.
In recent months, since Hezbollah announced its intentions to send out additional troops into Syria to aid President Bashar Assad's regime, several harsh attacks struck Lebanon.
Dozens of people were killed and hundreds were injured in these attacks, which according to estimates were carried out by Sunni organizations as revenge for Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian civil war.
