The advisor to the IDF chief of general of staff on women's rights, Brig. Gen. Rachel Tevet-Weisel, said from a general IDF report one out of every eight women soldiers in mandatory service said they were assaulted sexually. The brigadier general said that this was a decrease from the last report published two years ago, when one out of seven reported similar events.
Tevet-Weisel made the information public at a conference for the status of women in the Knesset. She also said that there was a rise in the number of general sexual assault complaints reported to the authorities from 2013. (Omri Efraim)
