The United Nations said two UN staff members detained in Syria have been released in the last few days, but 19 are still being held. UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said Tuesday the United Nations is trying to secure the release of all UN personnel "as soon as possible."
Nesirky said most of the detained UN staff members are Syrians. He would not disclose the nationality of the two staff members released or say who was holding any of the UN personnel. (AP)
