Lapid: Burden equality has dismantled governments and ended careers
The issue of equality in the national burden has "dismantled governments and ended (political) careers, and we will not allow that to happen," Finance Minister Yair Lapid said during a Yesh Atid faction meeting on Monday.
"The basic principle is that everyone needs to serve (in the army). A month from now, this will be the situation," he said, adding that the government will not impose criminal sanctions against haredim who refuse to join the IDF. (Moran Azulay)
