Members of legendary British rock band Deep Purple
will shoot scenes for the HOT cable company's new series, "Atlantica." The shooting will take place this weekend when the band arrives in Israel
for two concerts
at Tel Aviv's Nokia Arena.
HOT contacted the band through producer Udi Appelboim, and its members were sent scripts of scenes from the series translated into English.
Deep Purple was founded in 1968 and has been among the leading names in the world of classic rock ever since. The band will arrive in Israel after a successful tour in Europe and will perform its greatest hits here, including "Lalena," "Child in Time," "Smoke on the Water" and "April," alongside songs from its new album.

"Atlantica" was written by Sagi Azulay and Rami Davidoff and is directed by Oded Davidoff. The series revolves around a Jerusalem-based rock band whose members dream of releasing an album and becoming famous, but are forced to settle for gigs at gloomy bars in the capital's alleys.
The series stars Tal Friedman as a history teacher who becomes the band's first manager, lead singer Alon Hamawi, bass player Shlomi Koriat, drummer Andrey Bar and guitar player Benny Eldar.
Deep Purple members will appear as the idols of the Israeli band members, who long to meet them.
"It's a great honor for us," says Friedman. "It's an excellent idea which corresponds directly with the series, and we couldn't have asked for more exciting scenes."
