Peres to bestow highest honor on German Chancellor Merkel
President Shimon Peres will present German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the Presidential Medal of Distinction during her visit to Israel next week.
The honor will be bestowed on her "for her uncompromising commitment to the security of Israel, for her promotion of anti-Semitism education, and for her exceptional moral leadership." (Noam 'Dabul' Dvir)
