Erekat: Abbas set to get White House invite

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat believes that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is likely to receive an invitation from US President Barack Obama in the near future for a meeting at the White House, Army Radio reported Monday.

Citing an interview Erekat gave to the Voice of Palestine, the radio said that the Americans are still transmitting proposals between Israel and the Palestinians, but that no official decisions have been reached.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Obama in the White House next month, for talks expected to touch on Iran's nuclear program, the peace process with the Palestinians, and the Syria crisis. (Ynetnews)
