France convicts 3 who tried to fight in Syria

A Paris court has convicted three young men who tried unsuccessfully to travel to Syria to join militant fighters.

The court handed down prison terms ranging from two to five years on Friday for criminal association with the intent to commit terrorism. The three men, aged between 21 and 26, were arrested in 2012 before they could board their plane in France. (AP)
