US State Department: 'Israel has right to defend itself' against spillover violence
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Wednesday, in response to the IDF attack in Syria, that "Assad's desperate efforts to cling to power increase the propensity for spillover violence" and thus "Israel has a right to defend itself."
She added: "We continue to call upon the regime to avoid any action that would jeopardize the long-held cease-fire between Israel and Syria." (Yitzhak Benhorin – WASHINGTON)
