Report: Court presses pause on Turkey's ban on Twitter

A Turkish court has issued a "stay of execution" on the government-imposed ban on Twitter in the country, the Turkish paper Hurriyet reported Wednesday.

The ban was instituted six days ago, sparking outrage across the country and sending tech-savvy Turks to seek alternative ways to access the social media platform. Ankara's mayor has even bypassed the ban and continued tweeting.

According to Hurriyet, the court ruling means that the ban is lifted until judges have considered the multiple complaints made against the ban. (Ynetnews)
